Engine oil: 5W40 or 10W40, MB229.1 or newer
Manual gearbox: MB235.10, GL4 75W80 - 75W90 gear oil
Automatic trans: MB236.10 ATF
Differential: GL5, 75W85 - 80W90 hypoid gear oil or axle oil (strictly without LSD additives, unless your car has an LSD)
Power steering
Pre 1987: Dexron II ATF
Post 1987: At least MB236.1 spec Power Steering Fluid or Central Hydraulic Fluid (strictly not ATF)
Brake fluid: DOT4
Coolant: MB325.0 spec antifreeze
Fuel:
Petrol: - Pre-1986: Premium (Specifically E5) - Post 1986: Standard (E10) should be fine, except for CGI engines, engines not fitted with three-way catalyst from the factory and engines with carburettors (Source - ACEA) - Due to general controversy around th effects of E10 gasoline, I recommend always going for E5 Premium
Diesel: regular is fine
Filters: Mahle, Mann, Bosch
Never use additives in your fluids!
For W602 vans/transporters (as per original workshop manual)
Engine oil:
Petrol: MB 226.5 or 227.5 10W40
Diesel: MB 226.0/1/5, 227.0/1/5, 228.0/1/2/3 10W40
Barely any of these specs are aimed for by modern oils if at all, MB229.1/3/5 will work in their place
Manual gearbox: MB236.2, MB237 spec ATF (weird, Castrol recommends their Transmax Manual 75W85)
Automatic trans: MB236.4/6/7, Dexron II ATF
Differential: MB235 hypoid gear oil
Unassisted steering: MB236.3 PSF
